Somehow the Sea of Cortez changes it's colors daily, weekly, and throughout the day. I know this is reflected light but I only see the blue-green, contrasted with a usually cerulean sky. This day it was a deeper shade of blue leaning quite far toward green, and the simple composition of sky, water, sand, rocks is enough to remind me of how it smelled and how the slight breeze felt on my skin. Renewing summer Mexican beach day, so much to be grateful for. This was painted at The Reef, near the palapas at Wrecked at the Reef, in Puerto Peñasco, looking west, mid afternoon. When I frame it, which I will soon, I've tried both washed-out white, but I might end up with a classic light gold or silver plein air frame. I'll add the photo when I decide. Since this acrylic painting on a canvas board is only 4" x 6", it will draw you in from your desk or dresser top, or invite a walk closer on the gallery wall of memories.
