Opaline Spring

$225.00

Opaline is described by paint purveyors as a muted, soft,  blue-green pastel with gray undertones, or a watery blue-green seaglass color, there’s this characterization it is often given of “gentle” color, and something cool, which is what I saw this spring day beside a little finger of lakeshore at the aptly named Lake Pleasant in Morristown, Arizona, a large reservoir which now covers ground settled, it is believed as early as 700 A.D.  It feels both fresh and ancient, and has a peace about the place that makes spring so special in the desert with a shoreline.  While spring greens are not usually the cool greens on the spectrum, these are and pair so well with the pink buds.  Stylists will tell you that greens are hard to coordinate when worn, because the cool greens argue with warm greens, yet mother nature seems to manage them together, so this painting was something of that sort of project. This painting is petite, 3.5” x 5,” and in a vintage gold frame.
