#162 -Acrylic on Canvas Board
Painting: 2 1/8" x 3 1/8"
In Frame: 4 x 4.75
Silverleaf Nightshade is a rather romantic name for this small furry or rather prickly version of nightshade which stubbornly throws up it's purple blooms, though faded, with yellow starburst centers. This painting was an end of summer struggle for an especially hot Sonoran July, but when the spring superbloom was mostly over, these flowers did their subtle best in brutal heat and untended conditions. They deserved to be painted. Just a tiny acrylic on canvas mounted on a birch board, and presented in a dusty sage green and gold vintage frame. What do you think? A library shelf? A lamp or coffee table bibelot, a bedroom trinket? I'm just elevating the humble when I see a deserving bloom.
