Wandered down by the shore in a quiet cove of Canyon Lake, painted live while the light changed a little, the colours are always rich, before and after. The contrast in the Sonoran Desert between the water, sky and dry rock landscape. Acrylic on canvas board, I'm not sure about the square, I'm so very fond of those rectangular painting from the 18th and 19th centuries, not sure I can get over that...? A plein air painting of reflections, rocks, sky, reeds, ripples. This rugged landscape is both majestic and peaceful, the winter colours are tinged with gold. The original is a small 8" x 8" work that needs to be hung where you can get close to it, in a soft gold plein air style flat frame (or back or white) to smile at in the kitchen, boudoir or bathroom while you dream about your next hike. Print small or larger, your choice!
