White Tank Mountain Regional Park, west of Phoenix, AZ, is a special place of desert history and geological fascination. It's called White Tank because the sudden and dramatic downpours of rare desert storms formed deep tanks in the nearly white rocks. The park has, among others, a beautiful and varied Waterfall Hike passing gray-green, blue-green, neon green, soft gold, white gold and red gold flora, rocks and sun. Add white Sonoran cactic, and charming petroglyphs so close to civilization, but with mountain vistas, softer hills, the rich plain tan of the desert floor is full of colour to see if you stop and look. Finding color in the desert is so easy to do if you slow down and look at it's treasures. This little painting, just 7" by 5" originally was made on site, while the sun lit vista lasted, it wants a collector who can tuck it into a special place, easily accessed for a closer look, a sweet reminder to see beautify where sometimes we see sameness.
